Welcome to my corner of the internet

Hello, and welcome. I am Darren, and this is my little corner of the internet.

If you have found your way here, you may know me by one of my three names. There is TPN Explorer, where I share my life on artificial nutrition and stand up for fellow tubies and their families. There is Dr-Disco, my music and my time on the decks at BoomFM, which I have been doing since the late nineties and have never quite been able to give up. And there is just Daz, a Leicester lad who loves the outdoors, a spot of fishing, and pushing himself to see what he is still capable of.

Those three have not always sat comfortably together. For a long time I kept them apart, as though the bloke behind the decks and the bloke with the feed line were two different people who should not be introduced. It took me a while to work out that they are not separate at all, and that pretending otherwise was doing me no favours.

So this site brings all of it together in one place. My story, told properly rather than tidied up. The honest ups and downs of life on a feed line, including the parts that are not inspiring. The challenges I set myself each year, the tools I have built to help others, and this blog, where I write about whatever happens to be on my mind that week.

I have also started two weekly series to keep a bit of encouragement coming your way. Motivation Monday, to help start the week strong, where I write about the realities of living on artificial nutrition and what I have learned the hard way. And Wellbeing Wednesday, a gentler one, a reminder to look after the person behind the condition rather than just managing the condition itself.
