Look Through Old Photographs

Somewhere in your house there is a box, or a drawer, or a folder on an old phone, full of pictures you have not looked at in years. Holidays, daft nights out, people you have not thought about in ages, rooms you lived in and had entirely forgotten about.
Today's idea is to go and find them. Properly find them, and then give yourself an hour with them rather than a two minute scroll on the way to something else.
What happens is lovely. You will find things you had completely forgotten ever happened. A day out you would swear blind you had never had. Somebody's truly regrettable haircut. A version of yourself you can barely remember being, who looks perfectly cheerful about a week you now recall as difficult.
That last one is the useful bit. It is a reminder that you have already had a great many good days, and that they were not rare or exceptional, they were just Tuesday. That is very easy to lose sight of when you are in the middle of a hard stretch and the good days feel theoretical. The evidence is in the box. Go and dig it out.
